The aim of this course is to equip a learner with an understanding of the roles, responsibilities, and functions of a Health and Safety Representative (SHE Rep) in the workplace.
On successful completion of the course, the learner will:
- Have a basic understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Identify potential hazards, risks and dangers in the workplace.
- Understand the functions of a Health and Safety Representative.
- Understand the and election and nomination process of Health and Safety Representatives.
- Carry out risk assessments in the workplace.
- Carry out inspections in the workplace.
- Participate in health and safety committee meetings.
- Overview of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations.
- Introduction to Health and Safety Representatives.
- Understanding the functions and duties of Health and Safety Representatives.
- Hazard Identification Risk Assessment (HIRA).
- Occupational Health and Safety Inspections.
- Incident Investigations.
- Health and Safety Committees.
