Health and Safety Representative

The aim of this course is to equip a learner with an understanding of the roles, responsibilities, and functions of a Health and Safety Representative (SHE Rep) in the workplace.

On successful completion of the course, the learner will:

  • Have a basic understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Identify potential hazards, risks and dangers in the workplace.
  • Understand the functions of a Health and Safety Representative.
  • Understand the and election and nomination process of Health and Safety Representatives. 
  • Carry out risk assessments in the workplace.
  • Carry out inspections in the workplace.
  • Participate in health and safety committee meetings.
  • Overview of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations.
  • Introduction to Health and Safety Representatives. 
  •  Understanding the functions and duties of Health and Safety Representatives.
  • Hazard Identification Risk Assessment (HIRA).
  • Occupational Health and Safety Inspections.
  • Incident Investigations.
  • Health and Safety Committees.

R 1800 per learner.

All employees involved with Health and Safety Representatives and their functions.
